Cloud cost optimization services
We cut your cloud bill. The audit is free, the work is paid from the saving.
slashcloudbill does cloud cost optimization for startups and small SaaS teams on AWS, Google Cloud, Azure, Vercel, Supabase, Firebase and the LLM APIs. The audit costs $0. If you want the work done, it's $0 up front and we take 50% of the verified monthly saving for 6 months, then nothing (prices as of October 2026).

Send last month's bill. A person reads it and emails back which lines are too big and what we would cut first, or that there is nothing worth cutting.

What we look at
Where the money usually goes, provider by provider.
AWS
NAT gateways ($0.045 per GB processed in US East, on top of $0.045 an hour each), data transfer, RDS sized for launch day, public IPv4 addresses, logs kept forever.
AWS cost reduction for startupsVercel and Netlify
Seats, bandwidth past the included 1 TB (Vercel charges from $0.15 per GB after that), function CPU, image optimization, preview deploys nobody looks at.
Vercel vs Cloudflare pricingSupabase and Firebase
Compute add-ons bought for one busy week, egress from unoptimized images, Firestore reads multiplied by listeners that never close.
Why Supabase bills get highGoogle Cloud and Azure
The same patterns as AWS under other names: idle instances, cross-zone traffic, managed databases on the wrong tier, egress.

The same long prompt sent thousands of times without caching, the biggest model for jobs a small one does, retries that bill twice.

Share of savings, compared
What paying from the savings costs here and elsewhere.
Several firms only charge a share of what they save you. The terms differ more than the pitch does, mostly in how long the share runs. These are the terms each one publishes on its own page, read on November 5, 2026.
| Who | Their share | For how long | Up front | Clouds | Paid in total |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| slashcloudbill | 50% of the verified monthly saving | 6 months, then 0% | $0, and the audit is free | AWS, Google Cloud, Azure, Vercel, Supabase, Firebase, LLM APIs | 3 months of the saving |
| LeanerCloud, share of savings | Typically 10% to 30%, lower for larger AWS customers | 12 months per change | Not stated on the page | AWS | 1.2 to 3.6 months of the saving |
| Appvia, cost optimisation | 20% of realised savings up to £1m, 10% above | Not stated on the page | A small set-up fee, waived once you go ahead | AWS and Azure | Depends on how long it runs |
Read the last column, not the first. A 50% share sounds like the expensive one, and on a large AWS account it is: if you spend millions a year, a 10% share for a year costs you less, and we'd tell you to take it. On a bill of a few thousand a month, the saving is a few hundred dollars, and a small percentage of that doesn't pay anyone to do the work properly. We take half for six months and then stop, which is 3 months of the saving, once.
How it goes
- Free audit. You send the bill lines, we answer by email. Some bills have nothing worth fixing, and we say so.
- Baseline in writing. Your normal monthly bill, agreed before anything changes.
- One change at a time. Each with your sign-off and a way back. Production stays up.
- Pay from the saving. Half of the verified saving for 6 months. From month 7 it is all yours. The pricing page works through an example.
Questions founders ask
- How much do cloud cost optimization services cost?
- Ours: the audit is free, and the work costs $0 up front. We are paid 50% of the verified monthly saving for 6 months, then nothing, and nothing at all if nothing is saved. Moving to a European provider is a separate job at fixed prices, $1,500 for a single app, $3,500 for up to 6 services, from $6,000 for larger setups (all as of October 2026). Other share-of-savings offers we checked on November 5, 2026 publish 10% to 30%, for 12 months per change at LeanerCloud. Ours adds up to 3 months of the saving in total, paid over 6.
- Is there a free cloud cost audit for startups?
- Yes. Paste the top lines of last month's bill from AWS Cost Explorer, Google Cloud or Azure billing, Vercel Usage, Supabase or Firebase Billing, or your LLM provider's usage page. We reply by email with what looks too big and what we would change first. No logins, no account IDs, no sales call attached.
- Which cloud cost optimization company only charges a share of the savings?
- slashcloudbill does: 50% of the verified monthly saving for 6 months, nothing up front, nothing if nothing is saved. The baseline bill is agreed in writing before any change, and you see the same billing data we do.
- What do you change that a cost tool would not?
- Tools stop at instance sizes, Savings Plans and idle resources. We also change the code: queries that scan whole tables, jobs that run every minute, files served from the app instead of a CDN, LLM calls that repeat. One client went from about $3,000 a month on AWS to about $2,000 from code changes alone, then lower after moving to European providers.
- How is the saving measured?
- Before anything changes we write down your normal monthly bill and agree it with you. Each month the saving is that baseline minus the new bill, for the changes we made. You see the same billing data we do, so every number can be checked on your own invoice.
- Who does the work?
- Aakash Verma, a full-stack developer since 2017 with 9000+ hours on Upwork, with help when a job needs it. You talk to the person changing your setup.
- What access do you need?
- None for the audit. For the work, a read-only role first, then scoped access for each change you approve. Changes go live one at a time, each with a way back.
