Fly.io pricing calculator
Fly.io bills each Machine by the second while it runs, at a price that depends on its CPU, its RAM and the region it runs in. Add your Machines, how many hours a month they really run, your volumes, Managed Postgres and data out, and get the monthly bill line by line. The defaults are Fly's own example of a small web app with Managed Postgres, which comes to $43.67.
Estimated monthly Fly.io bill (30 days)

Fly.io prices from docs.fly.io/about/pricing and docs.fly.io/mpg, checked 2026-11-02: a shared vCPU $0.0000008465 a second with 256 MB included, a performance vCPU $0.000012732 a second with 2 GB included, each extra GB of RAM $0.000002316 a second, times the region's markup (Ashburn and Secaucus are the base). Machine lines are rounded to the cent per Machine, like Fly's own examples. Stopped Machines pay $0.15 per GB of rootfs for 30 days, volumes $0.15 per GB, snapshots $0.08 per GB after 10 GB, Managed Postgres storage $0.28 per GB used. Not included: Enterprise support, extensions billed at their provider's price (Tigris, Upstash), GPUs, older organizations on non-granular data transfer rates or discontinued plans. Reservation savings count only Machine groups running all month.
Why the Machine line grows
On a shared CPU, most of what you pay for is RAM. A shared-cpu-1x with 256 MB is $2.19 for 30 days; the same CPU with 1 GB is $6.70, because the extra 768 MB costs more than the CPU itself. Before you size up for memory, check what the app actually uses in the Machine's metrics. Node and Rails apps that get killed for memory often have one leak, not a need for twice the RAM.
The region is the second multiplier. Ashburn and Secaucus are the cheapest; Chicago and Dallas are 25% more, Frankfurt 15.4%, Amsterdam and Stockholm 3.8%, São Paulo 61.5%. Change the region above and watch the Machine lines move.
Then hours. A Machine that runs all month is billed for 720 hours. With auto-stop on, Fly Proxy stops idle Machines and starts them on the next request, so a staging app that is used a few hours a day costs a fraction of that, plus a few cents of rootfs while it's stopped. Production web Machines that must answer instantly usually stay on, and those are the ones reservation blocks are for: $36 a year buys $5 a month of shared-CPU credit in one region, a 40% discount, but the credit expires each month.
Managed Postgres is often the biggest line on a small app. The Basic plan is $38 a month for a 1 GB database, more than two small web Machines, and it is not deleted when you delete the app that used it. Look for clusters that belong to apps you removed. We price a full example, staging database included, in Fly.io pricing: no free tier, and the region matters.
If your Fly bill is bigger than this page says it should be, the free cloud cost audit is $0 and needs only the bill lines. Or we cut it for you through our cloud cost optimization services: $0 up front, 50% of the verified monthly saving for 6 months, nothing if nothing is saved.
