Blaze plan prices checked 2026-10-13 on firebase.google.com/pricing and the Google Cloud pricing pages for Firestore (Standard edition), Cloud Storage, Cloud Run functions and Identity Platform. Firestore: $0.03 per 100,000 reads, $0.09 per 100,000 writes and $0.01 per 100,000 deletes in us-central1 (double in nam5), after 50,000 reads, 20,000 writes and 20,000 deletes free each day. A month is counted as 30 days. Cloud Storage uses Standard storage in us-central1 at $0.020 per GB. Functions use Tier 1 prices with request-based billing; minimum instances, Cloud Build minutes, Realtime Database, App Hosting and Firebase AI Logic are not included.

Why the Firestore line grows

Firestore bills per document, not per query. A screen that lists 50 orders reads 50 documents every time it loads, and a real-time listener reads every changed document again for every user who has that screen open. Reads are the cheap line per unit and still the one that runs away, because nobody counts them in development. 400,000 reads a day sounds like a lot until you divide it by a dashboard that 2,000 people open twenty times a day.

The free quota is per day, not per month. Going over it on a Monday is not covered by a quiet Sunday. That is why the calculator asks for daily numbers.

Location matters more than it looks. nam5, the US multi-region, costs twice as much per read, write and delete as a single region like us-central1. Most apps picked it on the setup screen without reading the price, and you cannot move a Firestore database to another location afterwards. You create a new one and copy the data.

The other lines

Cloud Storage is usually about downloads, not storage. 50 GB of files costs about a dollar a month, but serving full-size phone photos as thumbnails can make the download line many times that. Resize on upload and serve the small version.

Cloud Functions charge for CPU and memory for as long as each request runs, including time spent waiting on another API. A function that calls an LLM and waits ten seconds pays for those ten seconds. Phone sign-in is the line people forget: every SMS code sent to a US number is $0.01 after the first ten a day, so a login screen that resends codes freely, or that bots find, costs real money.

Firebase budget alerts do not stop spending. They send an email. There are now spend caps for Cloud Functions, App Hosting, Extensions and Firebase AI Logic, still in Preview, and Google's own docs say they are not hard caps and can lag by several minutes.

We go through each of these lines in Firebase pricing: what the Blaze plan actually charges for. If your Firebase bill is bigger than this page says it should be, send it to us. The fix is usually in the code: a listener that should be a one-off read, a list that loads everything, a function that waits instead of queueing.
